This year at Frieze Masters, we are honoured to present a curated selection of museum-quality Pre-Columbian artworks, spanning from 2000 BC. Our presentation features a rich array of pieces, from Ecuadorian cosmograms and deities to abstract-patterned textiles that influenced the vanguard art movements of the 20th century.

In celebration of our 40th anniversary, Paul Hughes Fine Arts is presenting a unique selling exhibition "Back To The Future" featuring museum quality Pre-Columbian textiles from our collection in dialogue with 20th and 21st century South American artists. Never before have these artists been shown together in one place, and this unique event revels in both the diversities and unities of our exhibition program. The show commemorates the gallery's history while also looking forward to its future.

White Cube Paris is pleased to present ‘Rara avis’, a group exhibition curated by Jerry Stafford which brings together antiquities, artefacts and contemporary works of art sharing the subject of birds. Latin for ‘rare bird’, the exhibition title infers discovery and a sense of the wondrous or exquisite, but also intimates feelings of loss and lament. With a selection of works from the Paul Hughes Collection.

The exhibition Continuities celebrates the creative virtuosity’s and empowered achievements of Brazilian female artists of the 20th and 21st centuries contrasted with an important collection of Andean Pre-Columbian textile arts that inspired many of these modernist Brazilian artists as Mira Schendel, Jandyra Waters, Delba Marcolini and Sachiko Koshikoku. This selection of works foregrounds the unique role played by these artists in the development of modern and contemporary art in Brazil. All works as exhibited are realised by women artists from the ancient world to the modern era, the selection of modern paintings and textiles attests to the presence of the creative ingenuity in both Brazil and the ancient Andean regions that spans a time frame of 2000 years is testament to the enduring accomplishments of these female innovators to express themselves in a most poetic and sophisticated abstract manner. It illustrates that women were more than contributors to the developments of visual arts in Brazil, they were a driving force of Brazilian art in the 20th century.
