This vibrant and well preserved example of Nazca textile aesthetics exemplifies this culture’s technical brilliance in expressing abstractly the beliefs that man has the power to create order, transcend space and time in a non-representative aesthetic manner. For, surely accustomed as we are with our early 21st century modes of perception freed from representational conventions, the visual impact of this masterpiece cannot fail to resonate with the archetypal heritage of abstraction inherent in mankind over a span of 2000 years.

From abstract expressionist master Morris Louis to the sublime beauty of Irish born artist Sean Scully's stripe pieces, all these pieces resonate to each other as if the existence of time had little affect on the endless and universally explored practice of abstraction.
