Paracas Culture
This elementary and primal representation of the human hand bring to mine the paintings from the caves at Lascaux in France, imbuing the fingers with a minimalist sense of vitality. The simplicity and whimsical spontaneity of its executions bring to mind the more daring works of Miro and Klee, exuberant and free, giving us an impression both immediate and unbound from realistic conventions.
It is most fortunate and even miraculous that some of the most sophisticated textile art pieces from the Pre-Columbian history are impeccably preserved due to the almost perfect conditions of the Andean coastal desert.
